Project READ

Become A Tutor
Tutoring is an incredibly rewarding activity. It requires training and time. Below are the steps to becoming a tutor.

  • Submit an application (below).
  • Attend a Tutor Training Workshop and Information Session to learn how we tutor, why we use the method we do, and who our learners are. The workshop is 12 hours over several days. The training dates are listed below.
  • Commit 2 hour per week for at least 6 months.

Upcoming Tutor Training Sessions

The next formal training consisting of 10 hours will take place May 6, 7, 13, and 14, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. You will need to register for the training and fill out an official application. For more information, please call Elizabeth Partridge at 442.5321.

General Information

The training we provide is for the benefit of Project READ learners only.

We use the information below to match the prospective tutor with a student. This is an unsecured transmission. You may also follow this link to print the application and mail or fax it to us. You may fax it to: 360.442.5954, or mail it to Project READ, Longview Public Library, 1600 Louisiana St., Longview, WA. 98632.
