Meet the Youth Services Staff!

My 1st library card came from the Seattle Public Library when I was 3 years old. I volunteered in my school libraries from elementary school through high school, but the librarian at my public library was my role model. In college, a dream convinced me that libraries were "a kind of paradise" -- to quote Jorge Luis Borges. My dreams come true every day in the work I'm doing now.

I'm the Family Literacy Coordinator, which means I host story and language development programs for infants, toddlers, and their parents. I was born in Forks, Washington, and I loved taking trips with my family, camping, and reading when I was a kid. Some of my favorite books were the Oz books by L. Frank Baum and The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. These days I still love to read. I also like cooking, growing carnivorous plants, and attending roller derby bouts.
