What's Happening
in August
Holiday Closure: Longview Library will be closed for the Labor Day holiday on Monday, Sept 1. Have an enjoyable and safe weekend.
Fall Youth Programs: Summer may be ending, but there are craft and story programs to look forward to this Fall. Programs are set to begin September 23; registration information will be available in early September.
Koth Gallery The gallery begins the 2008-09 season with the annual judged exhibit by members of the Columbian Artists Association. The show runs August 21-September 10. The image below by CAA member Linda McCord is titled "Lipstick" and measures 14 by 20 inches.

E-mail Notices: LPL now offers another way to communicate about items you have on hold or that are overdue. If you would prefer to receive hold and overdue notices by e-mail instead of telephone, just let a staff member know the next time you visit the library. We'll be happy to make the change for you.
Project READ Needs Tutors: There is a waiting list of adults hoping to improve their skills in reading, English, and preparing for their GED or citizenship interviews. Could you be a tutor for one of them? Learn more about Project Read.

Free Internet Access is available at your library. We offer six computers with hour-long slots and one 15-minute "express" computer. The hour computers may be reserved by calling 442.5300 or stopping by the Information Desk on the main floor. Wireless access is also available for those with laptops.
