The Longview Room houses the local history collection
of the Longview Public Library and is located on the library mezzanine.
Newspaper clippings, maps, pamphlets, books about Washington
(in particular the Southwest part of the State), clippings about the
1980 Mount St. Helens volcanic eruption, local yearbooks, and a large
collection of photographs of Longview's founding in the 1920's make up
the main parts of the collection.
Some books are housed in the Longview
Room only. They are listed in the Online Catalog and are available
on request. Ask at either the Information Desk or the Main Circulation Desk. Many titles have copies
both in regular circulation and in the Longview Room; be sure to check the item's location and
status to see whether it is checked in or out.
To arrange to view the collection at times other than that listed above, contact the Longview Room Librarian, Karen Dennis at 360.442.5307.
